Join the Party ~ Link Up Love Party!

Hello friends! Here is your chance to make some new bloggy friends and be inspired by some amazing blogs! K Andrews at Getting Cricky is sponsoring a Link Up Love Party!

It's easy to get in on the party, just visit her blog, grab her blinky, make your posting (she tells you exactly what to do) and then start visiting blogs and making new friends! I am going to try to visit each and every partyer!

Also show one of your favorite projects in your post. Mine is a card that I made for my daughter when she found out she was pregnant. This is one of my favorites! The carriage is super simple by just cutting a pie shaped wedge from a circle, and the BABY letters are from the Cindy Loo cricut cartridge.

Comments are so much appreciated, I read them all, and if you like what you see I {heart} my followers! Now get going and SHARE THE LOVE by joining the party!

Cross Sympathy Card

Sympathy cards are a challenge for me, but when you need one - you need one. I have never done one with a cross before but there is this beautiful cross on the Easter 2010 cartridge that I wanted to try so here it is.

The cross and cross shadow are cut at 3" with the 2010 Easter cart and the wreath behind the cross shadow is cut at 2" with the Cindy Loo cartridgge. The cross has intricate detail and I cut one as is, and another one with the detail hidden using the hide contours feature of my gypsy - love that feature! Then I completely covered the detailed cut with Ranger Glossy Accent and when dry, glued it to the cut that had the detail hidden - which I had sprayed with pearl Glimmermist. I think it gave it some wonderful dimension.
My DP is leftover from my last card - Banana Pudding by Luxe, solid paper and sentiment from Papertrey Ink. Ribbon and pearls from my stash. I also used nesties labels 1 on this card. I don't know if you can tell but the card is a little different in that a 6 3/4 x 4 3/4 white card is mounted on a 5x7 flat piece of the green cardstock. Just something a little different.

Spring Hello Card

One of my favorite online stores for buying scrapbooking paper and supplies closed a few weeks ago (I'll miss you PaperAddict.com) but before they closed I was able to grab up some gorgeous papers and things that I might not normally have tried at clearance prices. One of those is the pretty yellow and green double sided designer cardstock I used in this card. It is Banana Pudding from their Luxe's Cashmere Sweater line. Love Love Love it, I am so glad I got several sheets of this design. I cut my cardstock pieces diagonally in order to feature both sides of the cardstock. Enjoy and thanks for looking!

Other materials used:
Solid paper and hello stamp from Papertrey Ink
flower stamp from rubbernecker.com
nestabilities, ranger super fine detail clear embossing powder, memento ink, sakura white pen

Mother's Day Cards

Here are my Mother's Day cards for my mom and mom-n-law. I decided to do them almost exactly the same.

I'm not sure why it doesn't look it, but these cards are quite purple.  I cut the MOTHER on purple coordinations card stock from the Mother's Day 2010 cartridge and then lined it with vellum and folded to make a sleeve. For the insert, I printed a poem on white card stock and then sponged on some Memento chalk inks in purple and turquoise to give it a marble effect and then stamped some flourishes. I don't know if you can see in the picture but the printing and marbling shows through the cuts in the outer sleeve to give it a really interesting design showing through. I added some ribbon and pearly embellishments to the sleeve, and a button and ribbon on the insert to make it easy to pull out. There is a stamped sentiment on the back of the insert and room for my greeting. Got to get these in the mail! Thanks for stopping by :)

I am so honored to have been given a blog award by Lisa at A Mermaid's Crafts! She is the owner of a blog I recently started following and you will want to follow too when you check out her blog. She is one creative chicky!!

So here is the award Lisa passed on to me:
Your Blog has been deemed Cricut-tastic!

Wear this Badge proudly on your Blog
share it with friends! Since Cricut is 5 years old and they
have an E2 out share this award with 10 people
that you think have Cricut-tastic Blogs!

So I am passing this award on to the following people, in no particular order. It was not easy to pick because there are so many talented people in this cricuty community, but here goes. These are some of my favorites.

1. Adrian
2. Storylady
3. Crystal
4. Connie
5. Stampin' Meg
6. Jessie
7. Star
8. Larelyn
9. Tambo
10. Shirley

You also have to tell 5 Cricut Related things about yourself:
1. My cricut broke when I moved last fall and I it took me 4 months to get it fixed - UGH!
2. I watched the infomercials on the Cricut for a couple of years before I actually bought it.
3. I am ridiculously stingy with my cricut blades and don't change them until I absolutely have to
4. My husband thinks the cricut is magic (hehe)
5. I refused to look at the E2 because I knew I would want it ;)
