Cardz TV Challenge #92 - what a hoot!

It's time for another challenge with Mary at Cardz TV ~ YAY! Here is my design team card for this weeks Cardz TV challenge #92. Use any owl cut to make a halloween card using any colors you like - how easy is that?! I hope you will join in on the fun!

What you need to know:
  • Use any Owl cut
  • Make a Halloween card
  • Use any colors
  • Post here by October 11th to be in the drawing.

I used the owl cut from Create-a-Critter (of course I added GOOGLY eyes) and made a gate fold card. The fence and cat are cut using Martha Stewarts Seasonal Cakes. The Happy Haunting phrase is also from Create-a-Critter, and I used a 'Have a Hoot' sentiment from Scrappy Mom's Stamps. For the inside I just Love this Halloween paper from DCWV!

Cardmaking with Mom

Because I am off work right now, I had the chance to spend some time with family. These past couple of weeks I have been hanging out with mom. I first went to visit her in Indiana, then she came home with me for a visit, and then I took her back to Indiana. It was really good to spend some time with her, we never out grow our moms... do we!
While mom was here, we did some card making. Mom is 76 and had never done any card making, but look at these designs she did! (I just helped out with the tools and technical stuff.) Great job mom!

Mom loved this butterfly tree stamp from Unity Stamps.

Mom really wanted a black & white birthday card for a friend so
she came up with this using stamps from Gina K Designs.

This is another b-day card we made using the scraps from the scallop oval we cut for the first card.
Stamps are from PaperTrey Ink. (There was a pretty black & white bow in the top left corner but it must have fallen off when I took this picture ~ oops!)

Mix It Up Monday Challenge at Gina K Designs

There is a very special challenge going on at Gina K Designs for Mix It up Monday. A birthday card for a DT members who is 'fighting like a girl' against an illness. The challenge was to use the colors Pink, White, and one other color of your choice - I chose green. Here is wishing AJ a happy birthday and a speedy recovery!

My card is made using GKD stamps from Celebrate in Style and Springtime Silhouette. All papers are also GKD from the Springtime Silhouette kit. I pieced the skirt on the dress form using patterned paper and added Smooch in Taffy color and a green copic marker on the bodice. I also painted the scalloped edges  of the die cuts with smooch for a shiny accent. LOVE that Smooch! The dies I used are from Spellbinders and PaperTrey Ink, and I also used Memento Dew Drops ink.
