One Last Halloween Project - Luminaries

Okay - one last halloween project - I decided last minute to make some luminaries for my front walk in preparation for trick-or-treat tonight. I used the celebration bags from Michael's, black for the outside and yellow for the inside - I tried purple on the inside of one but it was too dark to see so I went with all yellow insides. I cut through both sides of the black bags with the largest die in my Nesties Labels Eight set and then fit the yellow bags inside the black ones. With some spooky cricut cuts attached to the part of the yellow bag that showed through the black - front and back - and some dollar store break-n-shake glow sticks inside - I think they turned out pretty cute! I am showing the haunted house, black cat & spider in my pictures below, and I also did some with a flying witch and a carved pumpkin.  HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

I am submitting this project for some challenges.

Happy Halloween with Cricut Cardz Challenge!

It's time again for Cricut Cardz Challenge with Mary at Cardz TV. This challenge is fun and easy, make any Halloween card with any cartridge and any colors. Super easy so be sure to get your card linked up to be eligible for the monthly drawing!

And oh my goodness, wait until you see what fun things the other design team gals have come up with, go check it out! For my DT card I did a 5x7 swing card using the Mini Monsters and Martha Stewart All Occasion cartridges. Details for my card are below, thanks for looking and I can't wait to see your cards!

What you need to know for the challenge:
  • Use any cartridge
  • Make a Halloween card
  • Use any colors
  • Post here by November 8th to be in the monthly drawing.
Here is my card:

I made a 5x7 swing card. The monster (cut from Mini Monsters) is on the front and the swing part of the card opens to show the Trick or Treat (cut from MS All Occasions) on the inside. My solid papers are from Papertrey Ink (Plum Pudding & Ripe Avocado) and my patterned paper is from the DCWV Amber Autumn Fall Stack. I used my Tim Holtz distress tool to distress the edges of the cardstock - hope you can see that - it made a really cool effect perfect for this card - and distressed inks (Dusty Concord & Peeled Paint) on everything. I didn't have enough purple gems but with some clear dew drops and my V09 Copic marker I colored my own and added them for a finished look. The phrases were part of a collage paper in that DCWV paper stack and I added some dots and sparkle with Sakura glitter pens.

Eat, Drink and be Scary!!! Happy Halloween!!

Super Easy Sewing - Cross Body Trick-or-Treat bags

I am taking a break from paper this week and making trick-or-treat bags for my grandkids. I though it would be cool to make them cross body bags to give them hands free trick-or-treating. These are the ones I made for the little kids, the bags are approx. 11x11 and the straps are 30 inches. I am making slightly bigger bags with longer straps for the 2 bigger kids. These bags are so simple to make, and they are reversible, machine washable, and the straps are adjustable! They can even be adjusted to carrying length if they don't want to wear them cross body. I hope you enjoy looking at this project, I had fun making them!

Think Pink with Cardz TV & the Link Up for Pink party

It's time for another challenge with Mary at Cardz TV ~  There is a very special challenge this week for Cardz TV challenge #93. Our DT mission was to create a card in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month and use the color pink and any cartridge. So now is the time to make a cute little reminder card or get well card for some special gal, and of course, link it up at Cardz TV!

This is also an opportunity to join in with Yolie and her friends for the first annual Link Up for Pink party!
This is a wonderful opportunity to spread the word and remind all your girlies to practice good breast health, not just during Breast Cancer Awareness month but all through the year.

What you need to know:
  • Make Breast Cancer Awareness the theme of your card
  • Use the color pink
  • Use any cartridge
  • Post here by October 25th to be in the drawing for CCC.
  • Also post here by October 14th for the Link Up for Pink party.
Here is my card using the Tie the Knot cartridge and scraps from my stash. And ladies... don't forget to check your boobies!!!

Happy World Card Making Day!!! (& a Fluffles Birthday card)

HAPPY WORLD CARD MAKING DAY!! I am using this as an excuse to spend the day in my studio making all those cards I have been meaning to make! So please, check back later to see how I did....

In the meantime, I wanted to post this cute little card I made a couple of days ago. I love Fluffles the cat stamps from Stampendous! I used this one for a birthday card - the sentiment says "Life's uncertain...eat dessert first!" What a great idea!

Stamp - Stampendous Fluffles birthday
All papers and ribbon are from Gina K Designs.
I colored Fluffles with Copic markers - I also used a Copic to highlight around the image.
I finished with a Sakura glitter pen to give the candles some sparkle.
